Obituary of Doris Marie Irwin

Doris Marie Irwin, age 89 formerly of Ransomville, died Thursday March 16, 2017 in the Absolut Care of Gasport. Doris was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Smart) Harris. She married Donald R. Irwin in 1947 and they lived in Ransomville since 1950. Don predeceased her in 1971. Doris had worked as a housekeeper at the Ransomville Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in1970. She was a long time member of the Community Bible Church in the Town of Cambria and a member of the Lewiston Senior Center, taking part in all of its’ activities. Doris was known for her knitting and she loved to play bingo. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Glenn) Goodearl of Port St. Lucie, FL, Sharon P. (Vern) Winchell of Ransomville, and Gail (Scott Jones) Irwin of Campbell, CA, her sister in law, Julie (Vincent) Goldbach of Middleport, NY; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, on Sunday from 1 - 3 pm. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating. Burial will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Community Bible Church, 4168 Church Rd., Lockport, NY 14094.
