Joseph W. Farella, age 69, lifelong resident of Niagara Falls NY, died unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday My 12, 2018.

 

Joseph was born December 20, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Anna Marguerite (Sweeney) and the late Dominic Farella and was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Duffy High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from December of 1967 to his honorable discharge as Gunners Mate Technician 3rd Class in November of 1970. Joseph was employed as an Equipment Operator by National Fuel in Niagara Falls for over 25 years. He then worked for Reed's Jewelers for 11 years and for the Maid of the Mist as an elevator operator for 2 summers. Joseph enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, and road trips.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Brian) Farella-De La Fleur of Glenville, NY; two granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica; a brother, Michael (Judy) Farella of Hawley, PA; a brother in law, Victor Eydt of Lewiston and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marnie Eydt.

 

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday, May 18, from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral services followed by Military Honors will begin at 7:00 pm in the funeral home, with the Rev. James Bastian officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13270-3049.
