Obituary of Heinz A. Siegwarth
Heinz A. Siegwarth 90, of Youngstown, NY husband of Rosamond Dossert Presutti Siegwarth entered into rest on Friday March 1, 2019 at the Northgate Health Care Facility North Tonawanda, NY.
Born in Wossingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany on July 08, 1928, he was the son of the late August and Mina Haag Siegwarth. Heinz immigrated to Canada in 1951 then to the USA in 1955 and was proud to become a United States citizen in 1962. On May 22, 1976 Heinz married Rosamond and together they made their home in Youngstown, NY. Heinz enjoyed flying sail planes and was a member of the Rochester Soaring Club in the 1960’s & 1970’s. He enjoyed soccer and was an avid fan of the World Cup. He shared his love of the sport by coaching youth soccer with the Niagara Pioneer Soccer League in the 1970’s & 1980’s; eventually serving as League President for 2 years. Heinz continued to nurture his love of aviation in retirement by becoming a member of the Niagara Frontier Vintage Aircraft group where he was involved in restoring vintage aircrafts and the setup of the Niagara Falls Aerospace Museum. Heinz was very proud to be an American citizen and to be a resident of his beloved Youngstown, NY.
Trained as a draftsman and tool & die maker in Germany, Heinz was a Foreman and Maintenance Engineer employed at Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls, NY for 31 years from 1955 to 1986. Following retirement, he worked for Occidental Chemical as a contract engineer for 6 years,finally retiring for good in 1992.
Surviving is his wife Rosamond; his children Barbara (Carl) LaPlante, Rita (Andrew) Warrick, Matthew (Meghan) Presutti and Rebecca (Gerry) Goris, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and friends.
Family and friends may call on TUESDAY (March 12) from 4-8 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC., N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston. A Funeral Mass will be held WEDNESDAY (March 13) at 9:30 am in St. Bernard's RC Church, Hinman & Second, Youngstown NY with Rev. Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. (Please assemble at the church)
