Obituary of Betty Smith

Betty Smith, age 92, of Ransomville, wife of the late Homer Smith died on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. Betty was born June 21, 1929, in Spencer, WV. She is the daughter of the late Madge Taylor .She married Homer Smith on June 15, 1946; he predeceased her August 27, 2004. She was employed by and retired from Moore Business Forms as an accounts payable clerk. Betty loved gardening and was known as “the plant lady”. She sold perennials for many years and was a member of the Ransomville Garden Club. Betty was a seamstress, she enjoyed being with her family and participating with the Ransomville Rural Retirees and the Moore Business Forms Retirement Club. Surviving are her children; Jeanne (Ray) Yarish of Connecticut and Joanna (Gary) Hayes of Ransomville; a daughter in law Luz Smith, 8 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Donald R. Smith and her brother Alvin Taylor. Calling hours will be TODAY (FRIDAY), November 12th from 3-7 PM at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on (SATURDAY), November 13th in the funeral home.
