Today as a family we will attend the farewell services for a man who has meant so much to all of us. He knew what it meant to live and love his family. There are so many words that we can think of to describe him, he was giving, loving, understanding, caring, and funny. He always knew how to make us smile with his crazy facial expressions. Kim Jr. has told me so many times about how wonderful it was to grow up with him, and how he loved taking naps right beside him. I never fully understood until Haylie was born and she absolutely loved being in the truck with Uncle Bill, she would jump right through the open window to see him and sit on him and play while Daddy, Grandpa, and Uncle Chris worked on dig ups.
He was a selfless man and never let us know if he was hurting because he didn’t want us to worry, and he never wanted to be a burden to his family. Even on the Friday before he passed away, when Kim Jr. and I visited him at the hospital; I asked if he was feeling better his response was yes with a nod of the head. He smiled at us before we left and we told him that we loved him and would see him on Sunday. Unfortunately, that was the last time we would be able to talk to him because on Saturday evening our Heavenly Father called him home.
Knowing him was a blessing, being able to call him “Uncle was a privilege.
In closing we will say farewell Uncle, not Good-Bye because this is not final. We will see you again someday but until then shine down on us and watch over us and tell Will and Glor that we hope we are making them proud. We love you and know you are in a better place with no more pain.
